Directions to Our House (for Dance, Parties, etc.)

You cannot use GPS or mapquest to get to our house - it will take you down a street that doesn't exist.

The address is 2227 SW Primrose St. in Portland, but Primrose doesn't actually go through to our house, so don't try to use GPS navigation or Mapquest. Seriously, we tell this to people all the time and they insist on using their GPS and then telling us they couldn't find us because Primrose Street ended before they got to our house. Yeah, it does that. That's why you need to follow the directions below. Trust me on this. If you still insist on using GPS, use our neighbor's address, which is 9100 SW 23rd Drive. If you get lost, call us at 503-888-1250 (Bob) or 503-752-3415 (Sam).

From Portland: Take I-5 south to exit 297 (the Terwilliger exit), go right off the exit ramp and then another immediate right onto Terwilliger Blvd (you will be turning onto the bridge going back over the highway you were just on). Proceed on Terwilliger about a half mile to the third traffic light and take a right onto Taylor's Ferry (there's a Chevron station on the corner). Go exactly one mile on Taylor's Ferry, then take a right on 23rd Drive (it's a little hard to see the sign - it's  right where Taylor's Ferry makes a sharp bend to the left, and there's a Dead-End sign on the corner; if you miss it there will be a dirt road immediately on the left that is marked as 20th Place). 23rd Drive goes one block north and dead-end's at our house.

From the South: Take I-5 north to exit 295 (the Taylor's Ferry exit). Go straight off the exit ramp onto Taylor's Ferry, go down the hill, through the 4-way stop, then take your second left onto 23rd Drive (it's a little hard to see the sign - it's  right where Taylor's Ferry makes a sharp bend to the right, and there's a Dead-End sign on the corner; if you see 20th Place on your right, don't panic - it's a smaller number but you haven't quite passed 23rd Drive yet).

Public Transportation: The 12 runs down Barbur Blvd every 15 minutes. Get off at the Safeway (19th and Barbur), walk south down 19th 1 block to Spring Garden, go right and then take the next left onto SW 20th which S-curves into SW21st. Go right at the T onto Marigold, then left at the end of the block into the cul-de-sac. There is a bike path at the end of the cul-de-sac that wraps around to the front of our house, on the left.

You can also take the 43 down Taylor's Ferry to SW 23rd Drive, which goes 1 block north and dead-ends at our house. But the 43 only runs once an hour, and stops running at night.

Directions to the Sandy River

Take I-84 east to exit 17, go through the light at the end of the exit ramp, past the truck stops and fast food joints, then left at the next light, go under the highway (get in the right lane) and go straight at the next light onto Graham Road. Follow this road 0.4 miles as it S-turns past the small airport. When you reach the end of the runway there will be a small gravel parking lot on the right; park here and walk along the bike path which goes up a small rise and then starts a gentle curve to the left. Just before the path straightens out there is a path down to the right and then through the trees to the river. We generally hang out near where this path meets the river, or a little further downstream. A more private option is to continue further down the bike path past the high voltage power towers on the right. Between the second and third tower there is a path to the right which crosses a small grassy area and then branches; continue on the center branch through the trees to the river.
